Program areas at Promiseland Preschool

Promiseland Learning Center's preschool program serves children, ages 6 weeks old - 5 years of age. We also offer before and after school program for grade school children between the ages of 4 and 12 years old. Our mission is to transform Kaufman County for Christ by nurturing the hearsts, minds, and souls of the children we serve as we lead them to know they are loved and valued by God. The enrollment for the 2022-2023 fiscal year was highest at 225 children for both the preschool and grade school programs. During this year, Promiseland became a Texas Rising Star Program. The care for the children we serve includes providing engaging and age-appropriate activities designed to progress children in multiple areas of development including congnitive/language, physical, social/emotional, and spiritual. We utilize a Texas Rising Star-approved curriculum in our classrooms. We also offer chapel outside of the classroom on Thursdays from September through May to build faith in children. Teachers help children thrive by creating structure and routine according to a daily schedule. Promiseland implemented providing teachers with planning or training time outside of the classroom, while other staff members provide classroom coverage. In 2022-2023, teachers in all classrooms had this opportunity during the latter part of the year. In the 2022-2023 school year, Promiseland encouraged family involvement in our program through holiday parties and special events throughout the year. We also re-implemented field trips during the summer months for our school-age program, which had not occurred due to COVID the previous year.
Promiseland participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)/At Risk and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)through the Texas Department of Agriculture. The CACFP/At risk program helps reimburse the cost of food for our 6 week old-Pre K classes and children in our After School Program. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided daily. A light supper is served for our After School Program. The program benefits the children at our center by ensuring children receive a well-balanced, nutritious meal during the week.
