Oil and gas education: address the invasion of ungd in the community by extending our knowledge and resources to residents. We educate communities facing unconventional gas development through our home resource guide workshops, webinars, and mentorships, offering a strategic template and ways to be successful in their own community. In addition to local support, we also participated in statewide campaigns addressing the failures of the pa department of environmental protection to protect pennsylvanians rights to clean air and pure water and working to stop the development and operation of the highly dangerous mariner east pipeline project.
Reimagine turtle creek watershed and airshed communities plus, is a grassroots sustainable development initiative that engages multiple organizations, leaders, and volunteers to transition our watershed into a regenerative future. The watershed makes up the suburbs of east pittsburgh and reaches 32 municipalities and over 320,000 individuals of all ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Legal advocacy: working with legal counsel, ppt advocates for our local communities by participating in gas development hearings and advocating for protective permit conditions and ordinances. We comment on policies enforced by the pa department of environmental protection and scrutinize new proposed sites for hidden environmental and human harms.
To educate residents and local lawmakers with factual and important information so that they may better protect themselves.
