Margaret's Pantry/St. Jude's clothing center (located at 56 Cabot Street) provides monthly food distribution of approximately 75 pounds per person to families and children in need based upon referral. Margaret's Pantry is a member of the foodbank of Western MA. Margaret's Pantry helps distribute various perishables and non-perishables from our many local supermarkets/farms and other sources who donate directly. During 2022, Margaret's Pantry had served 18,663 individuals. St. Jude's clothing center is located within our pantry area at 56 Cabot Street and provides no/low cost clothing and small household goods to members of our community. St. Jude's is frequently called upon to assist families displaced by natural disasters and/or fires.
Loreto House (located at 51 Hamilton Street) is a safe, sober home offering single room occupancy (SRO) rooms to men on their recovery journey. Loreto House is a transitional housing program offering comprehensive support including: peer-to-peer recovery support, Life skills training, drug and alcohol recovery and employment assistance. Residents are required to pay a program fee. They are provided two hot nutritious meals daily, all utilities, furnished rooms and a safe, supportive, sober environment. Loreto House has up to 30 rooms available with support and provided over 9,700 nights of shelter during the fiscal year. Men transitioning to independent living are subsequently housed at Broderick House (56 Cabot Street) and McCleary Manor (40 Brightside Drive) all in Holyoke.
Kate's Kitchen (located at 51 Hamilton Street) is a community kitchen open to the general public for a hot, nutritious noontime meal 365 days a year, no questions asked. The Kitchen serves between 90-200 meals daily and disburses additional food to guests, based on availability. Kate's Kitchen is a member of the foodbank of Western MA and helps distribute various perishables from our many local supermarkets/farms and other sources who donate directly. During 2022, Kate's Kitchen had served over 45,000 meals to men, women and children and the elderly in our community.
