Providence advances progress on our carbon negative goal and in 2023 we estimated that we decreased emissions by over 12 percent compared to our 2019 baseline. In addition, our efforts led to the introduction of the green hospitals act, legislation modeled after Providence that would provide critical federal funding to weatherize and modernize health care facilities. Providence completed a comprehensive climate resilience plan in alignment with our commitment to the us department of health and human services climate pledge. We continue to reduce greenhouse gas emissions with a focus on led lighting upgrades, water conservation, more efficient delivery of nitrous oxide gas during anesthesia, and advancing our waste optimization work across all hospitals and clinics.program service accomplishmentsprovide subsidized housing with apartments designed to meet the needs of low income elderly persons aged 62 and older and disabled persons.overviewprovidence Place is a high-quality, supportive housing program sponsored, owned and managed by Providence health & services. Designed and built especially for low-income seniors, the building features private apartments with all the comforts of home. Each apartment includes full kitchen amenities, a private bathroom with tub or walk-in shower, built-in storage and air conditioning. Shared laundry facilities and welcoming community spaces are available to all residents.located in chehalis, Washington, Providence Place overlooks the beautiful chehalis valley. Many of the apartments face the valley as does the spacious community room. Public transportation provides easy access to local doctors' offices, banks, grocery stores.providence places a high value in supporting individual residents and creating a vibrant community by providing raised garden beds, a shared computer lab with internet access, gathering spaces for resident groups, and a wide variety of scheduled activities including educational and recreational programming. A service coordinator helps residents identify and access local resources and services, and advocates for residents who need assistance.providence Place receives an operating subsidy from the united states department of housing and urban development (hud). Hud requirements state that applicants for housing at Providence Place must be at least 62 years of age at the time of application and their annual income cannot exceed 50% of the area median income. Residents pay approximately 30% of their monthly income toward their rent and utilities.providence Place provides equal housing opportunities for all prospective tenants regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, parental/family status, marital status, age, ancestry, sexual orientation, creed, political ideology, gender identity or membership in any other class of persons.
