Program areas at Provincetown Community Compact
The Compact advanced the cultural well being of Provincetown, its people, and the natural environment of the lower cape and acted as an incubator (think-ubator) for social, environmental and artistic projects. Projects include: ali'i king campfire quorum, cape cool,haiti project, outermost contra,peregrine theater,prayer ribbons, Provincetown playwrights lab, rock harbor alliance, the dunes,wellfleet porchfest, cape cod dramatic arts,emergency medical supplies ukraine,friends of Provincetown parks, model united nations(muni), tim mccarthy human rights champion, plovr.
Swim for life: celebrating its 36th year in 2023, this quintessential Provincetown tradition symbolizes the heroic efforts of a Community devastated by the aids pandemic and its unequivocal response to it. The swim for life & paddler flotilla (a 1.2 mile swim), sponsored by the Provincetown Community Compact, has become a catalyst for a nurturing Community, offering connectedness, healthy exercise and continuity for those who return year after year. Beneficiaries of the swim include aids support group of cape cod, helping our women, outer cape health services, Provincetown rescue squad, lower cape ambulance association, soup kitchen in Provincetown, Provincetown schools, the Compact Community fund, accessible Provincetown, west end racing club,native land conservancy and cape cod children's place.
