Program areas at Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas
Professional training in psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Training includes classroom study, having one's own psychoanalysis or Psychoanalytic treatment and treating patients in psychoanalysis or psychodynamic psychotherapy under close supervision. Approximately 15 separate classes are offered during the year. Classes are held in the spring and fall and benefit approximately 200 people.
Member services. Represent the interests of members at the american Psychoanalytic association and other national and state organizations. Provide support to psychoanalyst and psychotherapist through continuing education in scientific meetings, academic programs and study groups. Meetings/groups are held throughout the year and benefit approximately 300 people.
Circle of security program. An intensive four day evidenced-informed training and lecture program for mental health professionals and parent educators who work with families. the program is offered each spring and benefits approximately 100 people.
Other programs include peaceful schools - provide support for the peaceful schools nc organization which helps empower schools to create and sustain their own healthy learning environments.referral service - provide a free telephone service for those in need of assistance with a referral for Psychoanalytic psychotherapy or psychoanalysis.
David raft fellowship - provides fellowship support to one or two clinicians annually enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, the training programs or continuing education courses of the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas (pcc).judy byck memorial scholarship - provides scholarships to msw graduate social workers who have never before taken a course at the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas. Thomas j pearsall fellowship - provides fellowships for psychiatry residents and early career psychiatry faculty at residency training programs in nc and sc. Fellowships can be used flexibly for courses, supervision, and treatment through the pcc and its members.psychoanalytic psychotherapy grants - provides grants for students who matriculate in 2023 into the Psychoanalytic psychotherapy track of the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas (pcc). These funds can be used for any aspect of training in the pcc (course tuition, supervision, and/or personal treatment).
