PEBC is an education non-profit that works with teachers, schools and districts throughout Colorado, and nationwide. We provide professional learning to cultivate highly effective K-12 educators to elevate student growth and achievement. The Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC) is partnership of Colorado education and business leaders dedicated to developing the intellectual and scholarly practices of educators across the continuum of their professional lives so our schools are worthy of our students.

Program areas at PEBC

Pebc teacher residency: one of the most important factors in the achievement of students is the preparation and quality of the teacher. We believe that all students deserve inspiring and effective teachers who engage them in learning. Pebc offers two pathways into the profession that support learning and rigorous preparation for the field: the residency pathway and the teacher of record pathway. Impact metrics (updated every year - number reflects cohort census numbers for one year): urban traditional residents: 31 urban teachers of record: 20 rural traditional residents: 5 rural teachers of record: 27 total mentors: 87
National consulting and professional development: there were 140 days of professional development in 22 school districts outside of Colorado. 7 traveling/on-site institutes for over 260 educators outside of Colorado.
Colorado-based professional development: Pebc offers school and site-based professional development trainings for teachers at all grade levels and across all subject areas. There are 275 days of intensive professional development for over 1,000 teachers and principals in 131 schools, which represents 32 Colorado districts and benefits an estimated 55,000 students. There were 7 traveling/on-site institutes for 461 educators in Colorado. Lab classrooms allow participants to observe research-based, high quality instruction by exemplary teachers working in their own classrooms. There were 6 local labs in fy23.
Institutes and seminars; p-12 educators from Colorado and around the nation learn from seasoned Pebc staff developers and Education experts during two-to-four day institutes and seminars. Educators participate in hands-on, interactive sessions featuring key topics relevant to best practice instruction. In fy23, there were: 1 b.e.s.t. Conference for 47 participants 1 cognitive coaching institute for 16 participants 1 crafting community virtual course for 2 participants 1 critical practices in culturally and linguistically diverse Education virtual course for 14 participants 1 developing discourse course for 2 participants 2 effective mentoring & coaching institute for 66 participants 1 virtual effective mentoring & coaching institutes for 19 participants 1 facilitation institute for 29 participants 1 leadership lunch series for 46 participants 2 minds on math institutes for 111 participants 1 phenomenal planning virtual courses for 1 participant 1 reading and writing connections in the literacy workshop for 45 participants 1 science institute for 20 participants 1 tools for thinkers virtual course for 3 participants 3 thinking strategies institute for 131 participants 1 working the workshop virtual course for 2 participants 1 writing institute for 10 participants
