Public Laboratory for Open Technology and Science

Community outreach, education, research : supports communities by building scientific research cultures for a more civically engaged society, strengthened by Public lab open-source platforms, and opensource kits that provide low-cost environmental monitoring tools to help people and communities collect data in their environment. Public lab provides support to educators to further student-led, inquiry based learning through community Science, emphasizing local/traditional knowledge, community ownership of research, and collaborative learning and civic engagement.

Fieldwork and conferences: Public lab staff are required to travel to do field work and tool testing with community groups. We provide in person training on programs and open-source techniques, bringing people together on Open hardware tools from around the world. Publiclab also hosts monthly meet-ups in the regions our partners work. Fieldkits are kits that are handed out to other nonprofits and community groups for their use in work.
