Sports & Movement: Within our Vocation core value lies our Puede Network soccer team, providing youth with a challenging and rewarding activity to build their athletic, social, and teamwork skills through safe and structured environments. Family Focused Activities: Through our Aspiration core value, Puede Scholars and their families plan, execute, and participate in monthly community gatherings to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and cultural traditions. Parents of our scholars play an essential role in these gatherings by contributing food and time to ensure the events success. Potluck dinners, pizza parties, and taquizas (outdoor taco parties) are just some of the events that have been organized in the past with the aim to unite the families in our community, provide a space to share and celebrate the accomplishments of our scholars, and promote communication on issues that are affecting our community. These gatherings also teach our scholars about the traditions found within our Latino culture, such as honoring our roots which plays an essential role in our identities by enjoying traditional foodssuch as tacos, tamales, and carne asadaand participating in events such as posadas (a ritual re-enactment of Mary and Joseph's search for a lodging in Bethlehem). These celebrations including various diverse cultural festivities are vital to informing our youth and families of the history of the country we live in and instill an understanding of the opportunities were afforded in this country.
