Development, training and awareness: Pulsepoint empowers cpr-trained citizens to help improve patient outcomes and save lives by reducing collapse-to-cpr and collapse-to-defibrillation times. Through the use of modern, location-aware mobile devices, Pulsepoint is building applications that work with local public safety agencies to improve communications with citizens and enable them to help reduce the millions of annual deaths from sudden cardiac arrest. Pulsepoint respond is a 911-connected app that can immediately inform trained individuals when cpr or an automated external defibrillator (aed) is needed nearby. Aeds that are managed using the Pulsepoint aed registry are also accessible to emergency dispatchers, serving over 4,000 communities. (continue on schedule o)pulsepoint respond supports three responder types: public cpr responder, registered cpr responder and professional responder. 57% of us adults say they have had cpr training and most would be willing to use cpr or an aed to save a stranger's life. Yet only 11% say they have used cpr in an actual emergency. Deploying a combination of these responder types maximizes Pulsepoint's community impact by empowering every day citizens - allowing us all to increase the deployment of community-based assistance in life threatening situations.
