Program areas at Push to Walk
In 2021, Push to Walk served a total of approximately 59 clients, which is less to the number of clients served in 2020. However revenue from training sessions, grants, fundraising revenue and donations were significantly greater than in 2020. Push To Walk was still in post Covid recovery in 2021 with staffing and clients still not back to pre-pandemic levels. As vaccines were slowly rolling out clients were still nervous to return and staffing was spread out to keep everyone safe and healthy. At the end of 2021 Push To Walk's training staff included 3 full- time trainers, 7 part-time trainers and 4 part-time aides. Administrative staff consisted of a part-time Executive Director, a part-time Development Assistant, a part-time Bookkeeper and a part-time Client & Event Coordinator.
In October of 2021, Push to Walk hired a new part-time Development Assistant. With the assistance of grants, Push to Walk continues to provide opportunities, both in-person and virtually for our staff to attend conferences and seminars on the most up to date research in spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, and other forms of paralysis. In 2021, the annual national conference, Unite 2 Fight Paralysis was attended virtually by 3 staff members as well as other training and educational opportunities. Additionally, Push to Walk stays current with updates regarding robotic therapy aides to assist the paralysis community.
