The following is a list of the major accomplishments for Putnam Land conservancy(plc) in 2022.-putnam Land conservancy(plc) began the facilitation of the acquisition of 195 acres along deep creek by the state of Florida to be added to the marjorie harris carr cross Florida greenway. This purchase will preserve a portion of the biologically unique creek system and helps the office of greenways and trails solve access issues to some of the lands they manage. - plc facilitated a 35-acre acquisition by the st. johns river water management district. This property will be an addition to the orange creek restoration area in marion county. - plc submitted a successful boundary amendment to the etoniah cross Florida greenway Florida forever project boundary. This amendment added 571 acres to the Florida forever boundary.
Advocacy and assistance in public acquisition of large tracts of conservation lands. All services and materials were provided by plc or donated by volunteers.expense is for trade association and related dues.
Payment of taxes on donated parcels.4a) cont.- plc submitted a $50,000 grant application to the us fish and wildlife services partners for fish and wildlife program in Florida to preform Land management practices on warea properties owned by plc and the Florida native plant society. The management practices will enhance habitat for threatened sand skinks and endangered clasping warea. Plc entered into an agreement with the fnps to manage their 12-acre warea property that was purchased in part using funding from the felburn foundation. - plc acquired an additional parcel in the warea area by tax deed sale.- plc was awarded a $5,000 grant from the jacarlene foundation to write a management plan for the wareaarea properties. A final draft of the plan is in the review process. - plc implemented two conservation easements totaling approximately 24 acres. Both conservation easements are in the Florida wildlife corridor.
