Residential domestic violence services: putnam/northerPutnamnorthernrn Westchester Womens Resource Center, Inc. ("pnwwrc") operates a 15 bed new york state licensed residential domestic violence shelter. The shelter provides 15 victims and their children emergency housing, support groups,life skills, advocacy, on-site case managment, adult/adolescent and children's counseling, crime victims' assistance, housing assistance,information and referrals, transportation assistance and recreation. The shelter is staffed 24 hours, 365 days a year.in 2023 the residential services provided 4352 bed nights to victims of domestic violence and their children. 66 different individuals resided in the shelter during 2023. All 66 victims of violence were provided with the services listed above as needed or requested. Pnwwrc's putnam domestic violence rapid rehousing program provides between 6-24 rental assistance to victims of domestic violence who have fled or are attempting to flee the abuser. In 2023, 5 families consisting of 13 adults and children were housed through this program. Putnam rental supplement program provides rental supplementation to any putnam county resident who is unable to sustain housing due to lack of income. The funds can be used for rental supplement of an apartment that is 85% of the area fair market rent.individuals contribute 30% of income to the costs and the program will pay the remainder to the landlord. In 2023, 3 homeless individuals were housed through this program and remain housed.
Non-residential non-domestic violence & non-sexual assault services: pnwwrc provides services that are non-domestic violence and non-sexual assault driven including counseling for separation and divorce, legal referrals, information and referral, support groups for women in transition, education and career counseling, art therapy, individual counseling and volunteer opportunities.in 2023, 251 individuals sought the services listed above.
Non-residential domestic violence, sexual assault services and community education: pnwwrc provides non-residential services at a walk-in facility. Services provided include rape crisis services, domestic violence services, children and adolescent victim services, 24 hour hotline, victim advocacy, information and referral, counseling, therapeutic services, support groups for adults and children, educational programs, life skills, empowerment programs. The agency staff provided 55 workshops in schools, community agencies,civic groups and law enforcement and social services on the prevention of violence in the community. In 2023, pnwwrc answered 853 hotline calls, provided nonresidential domestic violence or sexual assault victim services to 1410 adults and 123 children who received 9, 829 counseling and therapy sessions and 2784 advocacy services assistance with 297 orders of protection and provided 9 sane exams at emergency departments and provided 70 support group sessions.
