Program areas at RCOC
The primary goal of the CDU is to identify disabilities/delays as early as possible and to intervene, thereby facilitating a child's maximum development. Studies show that early diagnosis and intervention make a difference in many disabilities. In addition, the program includes all aspects of the child's life in a attempt to enhance his/her developmental process. This approach encourages parents and family to become active participants in the child's program.
The Child Care Unit provides a full range of early childhood educational/day care services for children six weeks through twelve years of age under license of the State of Wisconsin. The spacious, secure and pleasant facility features stimulating classrooms, large multipurpose room for gross motor development, fully equipped outside play yard. Infant and toddler child care in a stimulating environment which promotes early childhood development.
Community Placement Program assists individuals with disabilities in finding competitive and independent employment. Individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and displaced workers are given the opportunity and the means to find and retain employment with the assistance of professional staff specifically trained in the assistance of employment development. This is accomplished by carefully assessing the needs of each individual. The assessment may include each individual's capabilities, interests, educational background, talents, vocational training, and employment history. All of the qualities are taken into account by the Job Developer when assessing their needs to fulfill an employment opportunity that may be available.
