Program areas at Rain City Rock Camp for Girls

Rain City Rock camps - weeklong music day camps provide a safe and welcoming space for campers to create, rehearse, perform original work, and attend youth empowerment workshops together over six consecutive days. Each week culminates in a showcase where campers debut their songs at a local music venue for an audience. Youth serve as peer mentors for day Camp participants. Interns explore topics ranging from youth choice and leadership to technical skills, including instrument maintenance and repair. We remove cost barriers by offering sliding scale tuition starting at $0 and provide free instrument rentals for participants. The advanced music program (amp) is a week-long intensive workshop for teens with prior music experience, incorporating mentor-guided song writing, band participation, and experiential learning [run in collaboration with the mopop (museum of pop culture)]
Adult Rock Camp - rcrc's program for adult participants. Embracing the philosophy that everyone can learn new skills, adult day camps (2 per year) offer a safe, inclusive space for people impacted by gender inequity who are 21+ to exercise their voice, explore their potential, and play music within a supportive community. We remove cost barriers by offering sliding scale tuition starting at $0 and provide free instrument rentals for participants.
The umbrella - launched in 2021, the umbrella is rcrc's new incubator for gender and equity programming. The umbrella will host a series of free and low-cost youth and adult workshops to explore topics relating to music education, history, and community-based activism. These workshops allow us to experiment with new topics and curricula that expands on what we can offer during our seattle summer camps, adult Rock camps, and advanced music program. Because these workshops will run throughout the year, we will increase accessibility to a wider pool of participants. Additionally, the umbrella offers free band practice space for youth, and affordable, sliding scale pricing for practice space for adults.
Amplified teen voices - year-round teen leadership program for youth who have participated in at least one of our summer immersive youth programs.
