Rancho Cordova Police Activities League

Mentorship/youth leadership council (ylc)/ girl's circle: Police officers partner with the folsom Cordova community in a mentorship/ advisor capacity with approximately 80 youth, including Rancho Cordova pal's youth leadership council. The youth attend weekly 60-90 minute group mentoring sessions supplemented by youth participation in service Activities. The officers strive to cultivate a climate of teamwork, treating participants with respect, and fostering the idea of the community and its law enforcement officers working together to achieve common goals.

Athletic scholarships are offered to students of mills middle school and w.e. Mitchell middle school who cannot afford the fee charged by the schools to participate in sports. Participants must complete an application which contains demographic information, a coach's recommendation, an academic grade check, and a brief statement explaining why the student feels they deserve a scholarship. As part of this program, pal provides uniforms or sports equipment to these two schools.

Aquatic center - encourages at risk youth to make positive life choices by participating in recreational and athletic programs with Police officers.
