Program areas at Rape Recovery Center
During fiscal year 2022-2023, the Rape Recovery Center (rrc) provided services 15,278 to 2,791 clients. Additionally, the community engagement team engaged with 4,734 people, and our efforts reached 1.6 million community members with information about healing services and sexual violence prevention education across the state of Utah. The organization continues to improve operational efficiencies, including budgeting and human resources processes. The agency has been working diligently on adjusting staff salaries to keep up with inflation and the rising cost of housing. Rrc began the process of implementing a 401k plan for all permanent part-time and full-time staff. The rrc has continued to improve its record management system and invest resources and training in improving data management. In december 2022, the organization restructured to add the position of associate director, which stephany murguia, formerly community engagement director, accepted. Stephany oversaw the restructuring of various programs, which included shifting the advocacy and direct service programs to be led by a new position of sexual assault services director, and the addition of a mobile response team director, and prea coordinator. Rrc provided the first instance of emergency transportation assistance by the rrc during a medical forensic exam, which is part of a larger initiative to increase emergency assistance through the rrc for survivors of sexual violence.
