Rattlestick Productions

Rattlestick Theater has been an artistic home to provocative, daring theater artists since 1994. We have produced the early works of several of todays leading playwrights, including Annie Baker (The Aliens), Martyna Majok (Ironbound), and Heidi Schreck (There Are No More Big Secrets). We are proud to make Rattlestick a place where some of our nations most celebrated playwrights feel safe to test their boldest ideas, including Sam Hunter (Lewiston/Clarkston), Diana Oh (mylingerieplay), and Dael Orlandersmith (Until the Flood). From our beloved theater, Rattlestick has helped launch the careers of hundreds of artists and produced over 125 new plays in pursuit of its mission to present ambitious work that inspires empathy and provokes conversation that will lead to positive social changeRattlesticks artistic programs serve approximately 10,000 audience members and 400 artists each year. The 2022-2033 Mainstage Season included productions of The Gett by Liba Vaynberg and Amani by a.k. payne (co-produced with National Black Theatre), as well as the fourth annual Global Forms Theater Festival for international and immigrant theater artists. Throughout the season Rattlestick hosted readings and workshops for our commissioned artists as well as our fellows including our Playwright In Resident, Van Lier New Voices, and Rattlesticks Directing Fellow.
