Program areas at Reach Services / Reach St Pete

Our Pop-Up Pantry is a decommissioned PSTA bus transformed into a Mobile Grocery Store we call The Pop-Up Pantry. It pops up in high need areas that are considered food desserts, low-income areas, or areas of need. It operates every second and fourth Thursday of the month providing fresh groceries at no cost. There are no eligibility requirements making it as easy as possible to get access to fresh food. Our Pop-Up Pantry has three focus areas: Direct Access, Food Affordability, & Community Awareness.
Our Drop-In Center although not officially opened to the public for public hours accepted appointments to receive clothing, shoes, hygiene items, billing assistance, housing assistance, transportation assistance, food, and emergency assistance. This has been crucial to our prevention and alleviation efforts.
Our Literacy Program launched in February of 2022 as a pilot program. After listening to those in the community we serve and receiving multiple requests for assistance with getting books, and help with their reading assignments, we decided to launch the Literacy Program. After 5 months of testing out the program we are happ to announce its permanency among our outreach programs. This program provides free one on one literacy tutoring, homework help, snack-packs and drinks, transportation, and school supplies. The end goal is to get students experiencing homelessness to read on grade level by third grade to ensure their long term educational success.
Community Pop Up at Bayway Inn: Every quarter we host a Community Pop-Up event in South Pinellas County to serve those experiencing temporary homelessness via motels. At each event we provide food, clothing, hygiene items, educational activities, and life enrichment services to those in need. Oftentimes those living out of motels lack access to stove tops, microwaves, refrigeration, and have to share beds. Over the last two years weve spent intentional time building relationships with this community to learn their needs, circumstances, and how we can help them obtain a better life. Community Pop Up at Feed St Pete: Every second and fourth Tuesday we came to Feed St.Pete to provide wrap around services including but not limited to clothing, shoes, hygiene items, and financial assistance to those experiencing homelessness, low-income, and at-risk situations
