React DC served over 4200 people in 2022 (estimated conservatively and excluding most family members where the head of family was the primary client).react DC expanded reactcore's services offerings to including providing furnishings, cell phones, computers, baby and young child essentials, and all other needs to establish a new home, and assisting with affordable housing identification, benefits enrollment, social security card acquisition, work permit and green card acquisition, bank account setup, and other social services as the population needed. In keeping with our core principles of empathy, fidelity, and adaptability, we met emerging needs by establishing new programs. React DC launched reactworks, a best-in-class saas platform coupled with robust staff support to support newcomer employment needs. We also established and grew reactsponsors private sponsorship program, facilitating over $50,000 in donations to support privately sponsored newcomers from afghanistan and ukraine. We also established reactwomen, a nothern virginia-focused pilot program to build afghan women's capacity for english, employment, and entrepreneurship. Significantly, React DC anticipated coming legal services needs for afghan parolees and partnered to receive approximately $1.3 million to establish a culturally competent, linguistically capable, afghan staffed, attorney represented asylum clinic. Finally, React DC was one of the hhs-acf-orr refugee career pathways grant awardees, solidifying its funding in employment assistance for at least three years.
