Program areas at Read And Feed
With three mobile classrooms and dozens of partnerships with wcpss, other nonprofit and community organizations, Read and Feed provided high impact tutoring for 355 children during the academic year and 1,188 students with large scale book distributions across summer sites to help reduce summer learning loss. The organization provided nutritious meals and healthy snacks, reading tutoring and age appropriate books at no charge to all of the children attending the program. There were 23,391 books distributed through our program, helping to build home libraries for many children. Our volunteers devoted 6,095 hours tutoring students at 24 program sites. Read and Feed also had 516 tutoring sessions conducted for 4,918 hours instruction, 358 school supply bags issued, 8,875 meals distributed, and 8,340 healthy snacks consumed by students attending tutoring sessions.
