Professional developmentprofessional development - professional development programs offer educational opportunities to advance the practice and professionalism of members. Professional standards - peer-to-peer hearings for arbitrations or alleged unethical conduct; mediation/ombuds of disputes by trained volunteers for members and their clients/customers. Neighborhood outreach - annual outreach by member volunteers to residents-in-need in multiple market for fall yard clean-up, in coordination with area housing groups. Housing advocacy, plus diversity, equity, inclusion (dei) - involvement with community housing groups and local government to promote affordable and equitable and inclusionary housing opportunities. Promotion of policies and education regarding federal and state fair housing laws, and the code of ethics.continuing education - c.e. Series offered to members to fulfill Wisconsin licensing renewal requirements for residential, commercial and appraisal specialties. Residential ce 2022: apx 130 attended.new member orientation required education designed for new members on topics such as fair housing, professional standards, anti-trust, safety, Association policies etc, by experienced instructors. 349 new members in 2022.triennial ethics training required courses offered for members to complete nar realtor membership legal updates/market outreach - updates on topical legal, regulatory, and local issues relevant to real estate, available to all members.membership meetings - annual meeting & elections, installation, and education sessions. Available to all members. Attendance 200-340real estate designation courses - ranw offers educational designation courses in conjunction with national (nar) and Wisconsin Realtors associations (wra) to raise professionalism. Member recognition - annual excellence in professionalism awards for outstanding service to the industry and community.real estate forms local addenda to standard r.e. Forms specific to Northeast Wisconsin real estate markets, created with state Association for the benefit of regional practitioners and their clients and customers. Available to all members; widely used.
Communicationsnewsletter - monthly newsletter providing real estate news; education, events, training etc. Distributed to all members (over 2,500) and on public website.member emails - issue-based alerts to all members or companies as relevant. Annual report - update of Association activities distributed at annual meeting. Available to all members.website - content includes member info, governing documents, rules, forms, Association and industry topics, mls and professional standards info, education & events, links to organizations. Available to all members and public.membership search & directory - annual membership directory online for members. (approximately 2,700).messaging: the Association serves as the local voice for r.e. Reporting & promoting real estate trends and issues.
Government affairsthe Association, through its government affairs director, executive vice-president, leadership and volunteers, advocates for the Association, its membership and the real estate industry in issues related to government and public policy matters via the activities below. All members of the Association benefit from the accomplishments of these efforts as this work is of direct interest to the Association and directly affects the trade and business of the Association and its members. Ga activities include:monitoring relevant legislative and public policy matters at the local government level such as land use regulations and tax and fee proposals that may have a potential impact on the real estate industry and coordinating grassroots advocacy efforts on those issues.in coordination with the Wisconsin Realtors Association (wra) and the national Association of Realtors (nar), engaging members of the local Association in grassroots advocacy efforts regarding local, state and federal issues.building partnerships and collaboration with allied organizations as well as public officials. Grassroots member outreach to facilitate communication with local public officials and candidates for local public office.keeping members informed and educated on public policy issues related to the real estate industry and actions involving the federal, state and local Association via newsletters, email updates, website and office visits. Organizing members through committees to help provide input and direction regarding Association positions on public policy issues related to the trade and business of the members.helping formulate and disseminate communication with the media, sometimes acting as a spokesperson for the association.government affairs committee a forum for members to provide regional perspective on public policy real estate issues. Acts as a base to educate members and promote involvement such as letter campaigns and/or attendance at hearings to support action favorable to housing. Acts as a clearinghouse of recommended positions to the ranw board of directors.appraiser committee/forum - realtor appraiser members focus on the needs of their specialty for the improvement of appraisal services; as well as promote education. Commercial council - a forum for realtor commercial members to address commercial r.e. Issues.the Wisconsin commercial information exchange (wcie) is a commercial listing service of the Association for marketing of commercial properties and the promotion of economic development in Northeast Wisconsin.
