Rental housing- Rebuild Durham Inc owns 12 rental properties; the properties are leased to low and moderate income families. Our tenants have been with Rebuild Durham Inc for an average of 6 or more years. We attribute this success to the fact that Rebuild Durham Inc is responsive to tenant concerns and that properties are well maintainted
Workforce development: Rebuild Durham Inc facilitated adult education in ged preparation housing and building codes and housing standards. In 2018 usda awarded Rebuild Durham a rural business development grant. The purppose of the grant is to build capacity among small businesses. Our focus is construction trades; solar energy training has become the flagship for the Rebuild Durham Inc workforce development program. In partnership with nc state university's clean energy technology center, we graduated and cerified 8 individuals as pv associates, with a waiting list of approximately 25 individuals
African american history cultural center- Rebuild Durham Inc has established and operates a cultural center. Local residents and vistors learn through periodicals, newsletters, and pictorial displays about the plight and journey of african americans. Monthly gatherings by social, civic, and municipal groups have exceeded expectations and fostered enthusiasm and vistors from near and far. More than 300 folks have visited the center over the past months. The interest and demand for tours requires the center to expand hours of operation and build customer service capacity \
