Program areas at Recenter Ministries
Lifechange - (1) recovery - the organization provides transitional recovery services for adult men who are attempting to address problematic issues in their lives which have prohibited self-sufficiency and independence. The lifechange: recovery program phase is a dorm-style 3-6 month program phase where men participate in intensive biblical counseling, case management, workforce development/training and christian discipleship classes. Upon completion of lifechange: recovery men either transition to independent living or enter lifechange: transitions. (2) transitions - the organization offers 11-efficiency apartments for men experiencing homelessness who have pressing issues prohibiting independent living. These pressing issues may be drug/alcohol addiction, disabling condition(s) and/or other factors contributing to homelessness. Residents continue to participate in counseling/case management but are now employed or have established stable income and are preparing for their next step toward their maximum level of independence. Residents ideally transition to further independence after no more than 12-months but can be evaluated and allowed to reside longer, if necessary.
Thrift store - the organization operates thrift 'n' thrive, a nonprofit thrift store, as a component of the programs and services of the entity. The store serves as a hands-on job training site for residents in the early phase of the lifechange program. Residents of the lifechange program are assigned various tasks at the store, supervised by programs/store staff and coached on job performance, work ethic and attitude. Any profits generated by the store are funneled back into the programs and services of the organization
Emergency day shelter - the organization offers an emergency day shelter opportunity for women experiencing homelessness. Guests can access showers, restrooms, laundry services, meals (at times), mail services and baggage storage. The day shelter welcomes approximately 550-600 different guests each month who frequent the shelter.
