Program areas at Red Rover Ventures

We have participated in clinical research that allows patients without access to care to receive state of the art eye care. This does not require a preauthorization in the us and in a global setting it may constitute the patient's first eye care evaluation.
Our development work has focussed globally on children and women, the latter of which constitute 60% of those with vision loss. We work primarily with women in fair trade as part of microdevelopment-- when women are their own boss, they get health care and eye care and so do their families. We work with eye care professionals globally to make sure they have the basic equipment to treat patients. This work often requires collaborative relationships with other existing ngo's for sustainability.
We offer teaching and communication with eye care professionals to improve both skills and knowledge base. We are working on plans to offer training simulators that span training of all health care workers in ophthalmology.
