Program areas at Rehabilitation International
The China Disabled Persons Federation (CDPF) and Rehabilitation International agreed to collaborate at better serving persons with disabilities relative to realizing the visions of the convention on the rights of persons with disabilities and the 2030 agenda for sustainable development, both of the United Nations, aimed at making a difference in the lives of disabled people. This collaboration involves carrying out of projects concerning rehabilitation, education, employment, and poverty alleviation through the Global Disability Development Fund (GDDF) and the Africa fund (AF). CDPF donated to RI a total of $1,250,000 for 2023. The donation includes some funding support for the administrative operations of RI.
Rehabilitation International provides various services to its members including but not limited to: facilitating their participation in conferences hosted by the United Nations and other international bodies and agencies; attendance in RI's annual Governing Assemblies; provision of current and timely information on what's happening in disability, rehabilitation, development and other issues that RI members are interested in through website and social media outlets; providing them opportunity to vote and be voted for leadership and other positions within the organization; opportunities for networking, sharing of examples of best practices in the fields of disability, rehabilitation and other social fields; engagement in professional exchanges and discussions; providing a forum in which RI members can share accomplishments with others; among other services, partners, RI projects, communication.
