Program areas at Rescue Me Marana

RURAL OUTREACH: We partnered with several like minded organizations including Valley Humane High Desert Humane and ServicesRAVS Geronimo Animal Rescue TeamGART and this period helped over 500 dogs cats puppies and kittens who were isolated in a veterinary desert. We provided pet food animal crates blankets and bedding and a variety of medical supplies such as tick & flea treatments to five rural shelter
EDUCATION: We advised victims who purchased sick puppies from unscrupulous pet stores about Arizona's Puppy Lemon Law which reimburses only the purchase price of the sick pet. While these funds help a bit they did not cover any veterinary bills nor did they make up for the trauma these pet owners endured. Through media outreach we helped educate those chossing to buy from a for-profit pet store of the risks associated with the transactions namely that certain for-profit pet stores may put profits ahead of the health and welfare of the mother and her pups. We connected people having to surender their pets to reputable rescue groups and shelters. We helped people who wanted a pure-bread dog with resource on how to find responsible breeders and others to find low-cost veterinary care and pet food.
PET ADOPTION CENTER: Our Rescue Me Marana pet adoption center completed its second full year of adoptions helping 4 different shelters rescues to adopt their animals. We expanded our activities and took on care of several animals requiring unique medical attention.
