Program areas at PCAR
Respect Together works to eliminate all forms of sexual violence and to advocate for the rights and needs of victims of sexual assault. The Pennsylvania coalition to advance Respect (pcar), a division of Respect Together, funds and supports the work of a network of rape crisis centers that provide primary prevention programs and counseling to victims of all ages in Pennsylvania's 67 counties. The national sexual violence resource center (nsvrc), a division of Respect Together, identifies, develops and disseminates resources and provides consultation and trainings regarding all aspects of sexual violence prevention and intervention across the country. Services are funded through the pa dept. Of human services, pa dept. Of health, pa commission on crime and delinquency and the centers for disease control and prevention.
Federal funds are received from the u.s. department of justice and the department of health and human services to fund programs related to victims of rape and sexual abuse, legal services for victims, and educational programs.
