Program areas at Restoration One Ninety-Nine
Counseling program Restoration 199 provided therapeutic programs and services for survivors of complex trauma including Human Trafficking, Sexual Assault/Abuse, Domestic Violence, Bullying and Military Trauma. Restoration 199 served adolescents, adults and families in the greater Washington DC area in a variety of ways, such as individual and group counseling, along with innovative new holistic approaches to healing through expressive therapies such as Movement, Art, Music and Drama.
Building Resilience in Families Through Expressive Art is a safe space for families surviving chronic stress and trauma. These sessions give families a special time to bond in new ways that werent possible during the chronic stress and trauma. They have fun and develop greater trust and respect for each other. These workshops help families explore where they have come from and the kind of future they envision for themselves. They learn to reconnect in a healthy way and make space for all your feelings.
Eden is our new economic empowerment program EEP for survivors of complex trauma. Survivors are taught to integrate wellness into all aspects of their lives as they learn job skills and ready themselves for permanent employment. Eden is not just about training survivors how to make hand-crafted herbal bath and body products but is a safe place for them to heal. Most EEPs are primarily about teaching a skill. At Eden, learning the skill is secondary. The primary focus is to help survivors develop a healthy community where they learn to understand workplace relationships so they are able to thrive in their new life.
