Program areas at ReThink Media
Inclusive Democracy CollaborativeAchievement for this program:Our Inclusive Democracy Collaborative has partnered for a year with leading local, regional, and national groups to ensure all Americans have an equal voice by promoting judicial and campaign finance reform, increasing transparency, and protecting voting rights. In 2023, ReThink Media spearheaded a virtual training series, reaching hundreds of attendees and exploring strategies for community organizations to better utilize audio journalism as a tool in public engagement. We also organized a series of virtual convenings bringing together community leaders (including participants from 30 organizations and 18 different states) and members of the press for conversation on key state voting rights issues.
Rights & Inclusion CollaborativeAchievement for this program:Our Rights & Inclusion team works across the country with Black, Arab, Muslim, Middle Eastern, Sikh, and South Asian American community leaders and allies to oppose hate crimes and prejudice. In 2023, ReThink Media relaunched our on-the-ground community spokesperson training efforts, working with community leaders in North Carolina, college students from around the south gathered in Washington, DC, and community gatherings in Chicago and Los Angeles. We also partnered with leading research organizations for a special discussion with leaders in the philanthropic community on Data-Driven Strategic Messaging for BIPOC Communities through Stories in the Public Square.
Peace & Security CollaborativeAchievement for this program:Weve helped strengthen the voice of the nation's foremost leaders and experts for years, exploring solutions to vital national security challenges. In 2023, ReThink Media played a critical role in ensuring the voices of nuclear security experts and impacted communities -- including the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act Working Group -- were heard in press coverage surrounding the hit film Oppenheimer. We also successfully amplified community voices urging Americas leaders to formally end the Korean War and lower tensions on the Korean peninsula around the 70th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice.
