Program areas at Riverside Regional Pet Shelter

Applied human principles to animals. Fostered and developed the care and Humane treatment of animals, owned property for the purpose of operating an animal Shelter for the care and disposal of animals, educated and assisted in the promotion of Humane care of animals. Homes were found for 928 animals in 2023. In addition, 215 lost/impound animals were returned to their owners. A grant from st croix valley foundation allowed us to start an enrichment program to keep the dogs in our care more active and challenged in play.
Pet food was provided to low income families as often as the food was available. Food used for this program was donated to the Shelter.
Provided impound services to mankato, north mankato and surrounding counties. This was done at no cost to the organization.
Offered low cost spaying/neutering to area non-profits in association, along with basic rabies, wellness shots.
