The Riverton Volunteer Fire Department is comitted to saving lives and property, and providing the highest level of public safety performance to the citizens in the Riverton Fire protection district. Our members are 100 Volunteer professionals who are educated and trained to the highest standards of the Fire service. Program areas at Riverton Volunteer Fire Department

Riverton Volunteer Fire Department co-hosts the annual Wyoming Mid Winter Fire School and Meeting The school hosts nearly 600 participants, and is known state wide as the largest and most hospitable firefighter gathering in the area. The topics of instruction and their appropriate instructors have been compiled from all over the United States. The RVFD completes is mission with a force of FULLY VOLUNTEER trained professionals. Training is key to the continued protection of the 120 sq. miles served by the RVFD.
Uniforms and safety equipment are key components of providing professional fire protection services to the citizens of Riverton and surrounding areas.
Riverton Volunteer Fire Department pays the monthly contribution for its members to the Wyoming Volunteer Firefighter Pension Fund created in 1967. This plan is administered through Wyoming Statutes 35-9-616 through 35-9-628. Partial revenue for this payment comes to the RVFD from the Riverton Fire Protection District.
