Program areas at Rockland After School Programs
Rockland After School Programs provided school-age care for approxmately 200 children in grades K-8 dring the school year and summer. The majority of the children served during the school year come from familles of color, primarliy Haitian, Afro-American Central American and everal other nationalities. Some of our families are recent immigrants whose children speak English as a second language. Many are families with low Incomes RAGP provided the children with safe, intentional environment in which the children particlapted im visual and performing arts, sports and games, science exploration, literacy projects, healthy cooking, and free choice play designed to support positive social skills, problem solving and Imaginative play. Children received academic support In completing their homework In the summer, in addition, children have a wide varlety of outdoor experiences including archery, camping and hiking
