Shelter operations - Roof Above operates three emergency shelter facilities in charlotte, north carolina, comprised of more than 530 beds, for the purpose of sheltering and providing services for men experiencing homelessness. The shelter's services to its guests focus on increasing their employment income and obtaining housing. Embedded in one of the three shelters is a wellness wing comprised of organizational partnership to provide substance use, mental illness, and physical healthcare services to guests. In addition, the county-funded motel-based shelter for people displaced from a large encampment for which Roof Above led operations was closed in october 2021. Roof Above operated a very small motel-based emergency shelter for people from the previous encampment motel who were still actively working towards housing solutions. Additionally, Roof Above operated a motel-based shelter for seniors for mecklenburg county throughout the fiscal year.
