Roots of Health

Clinical services includes the costs of operating two contraceptive and family planning clinics. It includes the contraceptive commodities used and ancillary supplies including syringes, anesthesia, disinfecting equipment and other supplies.

Media and Communications was the third largest program. Funds were used to maintain our websites and social media pages, create new content, and deliver health information in various online platforms throughout the year.

Systems Strengthening work includes all programs and activities carried out in order to improve the capacity of local government counterparts. This includes trainings for government health workers and nurses and midwives, helping local chief executives to plan responses to the issues of teen pregnancy and HIV, training teachers and principals on how to teach students in their schools about comprehensive sexuality education, and training for people to become certified in community based screening for HIV.

Expenses for our Youth Advocate trainings. This program provides communications training and support to young people so they can be peer educators on sexual and reproductive health concerns.
