Program areas at Rotary Club of MT Pleasant
Back pack buddiesonce a month, during the school year, we pack 612 weekend meals for 145 elementary school children in the east cooper area. We work with the lowcountry food bank, 2864 azalea dr., charleston, placing the packaged food in bags ready for delivery when needed.
Happy feetthis is a project to give underprivileged school children shoes and socks. We hold the event in october at target, giving shoes to approximately 250-300 children. About one-half of our Club members attend, along with a few members from the east cooper breakfast Rotary Club, the interact Club and rotaract Club
Soccer classicour most successful fundraising project conducted is our Rotary soccer classic. We invite boys and girls' soccer teams from the local area to play and compete in a soccer tournament. The proceeds fund the charities which our charities committee slects for the year. We also sell adds for the program and charge admission.
