The Volunteer Center / RSVP of Allen County Inc

Provides citizens of the Indiana counties of Allen, Huntington, Wells and Whitley, with an emphasis on persons 55 years and older and others regardless of age, race, income or disability, the opportunity to engage in community service supporting locally established initiatives. In 2023, approximately 108,530 hours of service were provided by 3,462 volunteers at 145 partner agencies..

Coats for Kids Program - In 2023, a total of 47 volunteers provided 3,429 of service collecting, sorting, and distributiing winter coats. This volunteer led effort resulted in 7,548 winter coats provided to 94 schools and social services agencies serving children living in proverty in our community. The program is designed to eliminate financial and social barriers that inhibit low to moderate income children from having a winter coat.

EITC Tax Program - Offering free federal and state income tax preparation to low income families in the Allen County and northeast Indiana communities. For 2023, our 36 IRS Certified Tax Volunteers assisted 2,089 taxpayers in five language groups and returned approximately 1.8 million dollars to Allen County and northeast Indiana families.
