Organizing the massive array of free, open source educational content available online on the Rumie LearnCloud, a web platform. 13,000 people benefited. This involved funding the build-out of the Rumie LearnCloud web platform, an interactive website where anyone can browse through individual pieces of free learning content or curated collections of learning content organized by LearnCloud users. Rumie's NGO partners, use the LearnCloud to select the learning resources they want for their tablets. Rumie's LearnCloud is a constantly-growing free resource for anyone in the world to learn anything they want, for free. Subjects covered include traditional education, literacy, life skills, career preparation, and more.
Delivering low-cost learning tablets to children in underserved or isolated communities around the world. 13,000 people benefited. This involved funding the low-cost tablet hardware that, after being loaded with learning content and the Rumie OS, would serve as a portable and customized library for a child. Rumie facilitates the distribution of these tablets to children around the world through NGO partners.
Preloading learning content and Rumie software onto low-cost tablets so that they can be used without internet by children without sufficient access to education. 13,000 people benefited. This involved funding the build-out of Rumie OS, and Android launcher that serves as a customizable learning software. Rumie OS organizes learning resources into interactive lesson plans, limits access to pre-approved content, and tracks impact through automatic data analytics.
