Program areas at Russian Nobility Association in America
Since 1933, the primary purpose of the Russian Nobility Association in America has been to raise funds to aid Russians that require assistance, wherever they may be, whenever they are in need.As a result of over 80 years of these efforts, the Russian Nobility Association in America has a wide network of charities and assistance programs that depend upon our continued support.Our primary fundraising activity is the annual Spring Ball which provides a significant percentage of our annual operating budget, as well as our annual fund for distribution. In other words, the more money we generate, the more we are able to give freely.CHILDRENThe Russian Nobility Association supports children through its work with struggling orphanages and children's hospitals in Russia, in Europe, and in the United States, as well as providing support to scouting and educational programs for young people.THE ELDERLYThe Russian Nobility Association has long supported the needs of the older members in our community through assistance to nursing homes, hospitals, and clinics that provide much needed care to the elderly and infirm.CULTURE AND EDUCATIONThrough its own scholarship program, the Russian Nobility Association helps provide funds for worthy students with exceptional qualifications who seek to further their education.The Association also raises funds through its annual series of lectures, which promote Russian History, Russian Culture, and address topics of contemporary interest regarding Russia and the countries of the former Russian Empire.
The Russian Nobility Association in America awards scholarships to qualified graduate students, undergraduate students and high school graduates entering college, through the Prince Alexis P. Scherbatow Scholarship Fund. In 2023 3 scholarships were awarded.
Russian Ancestry Genealogical ResearchUsing historical researchers, genealogists, librarians, and archivists in Russia we assist in the development of summary (subject to a user fee) of genealogical information.
