Program areas at SACRED
SACRED helps improve quality of life in the rural Mexican communities where heritage agave spirits are made. During FY2021, the programs that SACRED funded or implemented toward the fulfillment of this mission included distributing more than 10,000 agave seedlings to families in Oaxaca; providing food to families in Oaxaca impacted by the pandemic; building a well in Miahuatlan, Oaxaca; building a rain-harvest system in Santa Maria Ixcatlan, Oaxaca, and building four greenhouses in various communities in Jalisco. During that fiscal year, we also began building a community plaza in Rio de Parras, Michoacan; began building a library in Zapotitlan de Vadillo, Jalisco, and began rebuilding a family distillery in Espanica, Jalisco.
