Safari West Live Stream and WebcastA fully interactive live-stream experience, Safari West LIVE engages the imagination and inspires the curiosity of young explorers as they virtually ride along with a naturalist through the rolling hills of Safari West, spotting giraffes, cheetahs, wildebeest, zebras, and many more wondrous African animals.In 2023, the Safari West LIVE program was broadcast directly into children's hospitals 138 times, reaching 32,140 hospital beds. Safari West Live continued their ongoing partnership with Seacrest Studios, resulting in 12 broadcasts, and reaching 28,617 hospital beds. Also in 2023, Safari West Live was able to re-establish their previously existing partnership with Lollipop Theater Network, resulting in 3 broadcasts and reaching 3,036 hospital beds.
The Safari West Wildlife Foundation provides hands-on experiential learning for youth and children, including thousands from underserved communities. The two main programs are Discover Africa and Junior Keepers: Discover Africa - is a scholarship program that is offered to Title 1 Schools. in 2023 17 Title 1 schools received scholarships and 800 students were impacted. Junior Keepers - In addition to working directly with the animals, Junior Keepers are involved with keeper duties, helping to present information to the public. They develop public speaking, organizational and team building skills, just to name a few.In 2023, 20 young people participated in the Junior Keeper program every weekend from April through November. Of the 18, 7 graduated out of the program at the end of 2023. The remaining 13 will begin the program again in 2024.
