Description
SafePlace strives to end sexual and domestic violence by providing crisis intervention and education. They advocate for personal and societal change through their 24-hour emergency help line, emergency shelter, anti-violence education, and outreach. SafePlace also provides shelter for survivors, having provided 5,699 bednights for 266 individuals and responded to the needs of 208 individuals.

Program areas at SafePlace

Provided crisis intervention and advocacy services for sexual and domestic violence survivors. Emergency shelter: in 2023, our confidential shelter supported 336 survivors. Our shelter's 24-hour helpline staff also answered 4,978 calls for both domestic violence and sexual assault.housing program: in 2023, our housing program served 606 new households and 494 individuals. We exited 36 households into permanent housing and successfully relocated 41 households.community services: in 2023, our community services (cs) program served 527 drop-in clients. We also served, on average, five clients per month in our domestic violence support group. Cs advocates accompanied 354 clients to court, and helped to procure 330 protective orders for survivors.sexual assault/prevention: in 2023, our youth and prevention team had 58 high school students attend our speak meetings, where students learned to advocate for their fellow youth and learned about topics such as consent, healthy boundaries, and leadership. Our elementary, middle, and high school relationship squad programs served 178 students, 244 students, and 108 students respectively. Our sexual assault program responded to 116 sexual assault emergencies throughout the year. Safeplace advocates met survivors at the hospital to provide advocacy and support.
