Description
Saints Rest Community Economic Dev aims to elevate the economic, educational, and social standards and improve the quality of life for West Fresno residents. It does so by encouraging the formation of economic development opportunities. Its objective is to develop and encourage community-based tactics that can foster sustainable growth in the Saint Rest locality for a better standard of living. Through Public Health Institute RISE grants in 2022, it has facilitated five job placements.

Program areas at Saints Rest Community Economic Dev

To develop and support community-based strategies that increase economic opportunity and improve the quality of life for a sustainable Saint Rest neighborhood. In 2022 through the Public Health Institute RISE grants, we were able to create five employment opportunities for Fresno community members as we provided education and outreach to the 93706 community by distributing flyers with COVID-19 information and obtaining over 750 wellness surveys. We partnered with the African American Coalition to host a Fall for Health event that had over 20 vendors and over 500 participants. Around 40 individuals were vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine at this event. There were also free games, food, and prizes, food. Secured additional funding from Community Valley Foundation to go towards the completion of Phase II and III of our green space project which includes mini soccer fields (Phase II) and an airnasium (Phase III).
