Salama Urban Ministries

For more than 38 years, Salama has served the greater nashville area by providing life-changing programs that equip children with skills needed for success in life. Today, Salama provides a year-round,5-day/week extended learning program that develops youth into value guided leaders. We serve grades k-12th grade youth. We invest approximately 650 hours a year of instruction per student in academics, the performing arts, and spiritual development in the christian faith. Salama partners with families in need to help them reach god-given dreams for their children. Salama was directly engaged in the community engagement & planning stages of the development of hillside flats, at the request of elmington capital. Salama helped facilitate, & provided meeting space for engagement between the park at hillside tenants association & elmington capital, sought&secured community involvement throughout the planning process & continues to serve as a neighborhood community partner.
