Salmonberry Trail Foundation

The Salmonberry Trail is an 82-mile rail-to-trail project that will connect banks, Oregon to the Oregon coast. Salmonberry Trail program service accomplishments for 2023 include:planning and construction* created planning and construction committee and technical advisory committee and trestle committee* developed draft minimum Trail standard policy* developed and implemented liability signage policy * met with county planning teams and city officials in Washington county and tillamook county* applied for funding for unifier/catalyst loop in Washington county* applied for funding for wheeler connection Trail in tillamook county* began removing ties and rails in Washington county programming * developed volunteer program and volunteer structure* hosted volunteer events to clear brush and trash from 8 miles of Trail * developed landowner program, called good neighbor program capacity * recruited new board members* held board retreat and updated strategic plan* developed finance, executive and development board committees* created new database program* updated website and communications tools* applied for new grants with government and private foundations* increased donations by 10xs the previous year* held series of outreach events and community presentations * hired new executive director, hired first development director, hired new bookkeeper * increased our insurance plan
