International Hands in Service operates medical/dental clinics in guatemala serving the indigenous maya. We provide medical, dental and laboratory services. in addition, we coordinate and support volunteer clinician efforts to set up temporary rural clinics. The organization also opened a school for preschool through first grade for camanchaj children. The goal of the program is to increase the children's chances of success in the public school system with high quality, culturally sensitive preschool curriculum and to promote healthy development by providing nutritious meals, teaching healthy habits (such as hand washing and teeth brushing), and offering medical and dental care.
