San Francisco Heritage is a 501(c)(3) historic preservation nonprofit dedicated to protecting San Francisco's historically and culturally significant sites and structures through advocacy and education. Heritage aims to help manage change over time, advocating for smart growth through the protection and reuse of historic structures and landscapes. Heritage is a membership-based organization and the owners and operators of the 1886 Haas-Lilienthal House, San Francisco’s only Victorian house museum.

Program areas at SF Heritage

Heritage owns and maintains an 1886 Queen Anne Victorian house museum open three days a week and by appointment to groups guided by docents
Heritage owns the Doolan Larson building and storefronts located at the corner of Haight and Ashbury. The Doolan Larson building serves as a center for the interpretation and preservation of Haight-Ashbury's many contributions to America's countercultural legacy
Heritage advocates urban conservation in the public-decision making process by monitoring projects and policies that affect historic resources at the San Francisco Planning Commission Historic Preservation Commission and the Board of Supervisors and by providing a forum for public awareness. Other Educational programs include walking tours of San Francisco special tours and lectures 560 attend these about its significant structures and architectural history and a book store. Heritage monitors 59 preservation easements ensuring the facades of historically significant structures are maintained in perpetuity.
