Program areas at San Luis Coastal Education Foundation
The iinnovate program is a multi-year initiative to meaningfully and equitably integrate 21st century hands-on learning across the school district's ten elementary schools. The iinnovate initiative seeks to reimagine the traditional framework of instruction in order to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a changing global economy.
The grantmaking program seeks to inspire our student and teacher partners in Education throughout the San Luis Coastal unified school district to dream big, be creative and accomplish projects they never before thought possible. The grantmaking program provides funding opportunities that are designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward innovative and impactful educational activities that accomplish the program priorities shared by the Foundation and school district.
The opportunity program is a multi-faceted and high impact initiative to elevate students personally, academically, and socially. Experiences that students have in elementary and middle school can lay the groundwork for future achievement. Research shows that critical programs such as team sports, outdoor Education and removing barriers for first generation students, help set kids up with the essential skills for future personal and professional success. The opportunity program includes multiple funds with the goal of partnering with the school district to offer a year-round elementary sports program focused on developing student leadership & academic excellence, equitable access for all students to experience overnight science camp and removing barriers for first-generation students and empowering them to reach for their goals.
