The pal twelve35 teen center serves as a central hub for teenagers and community collaboration in downtown Santa Barbara. Open to students ages 11-18, the center operates monday to friday from 3 pm to 6:30 pm with no registration fees, ensuring all youth have access to its services. The teen center provides a safe and welcoming space where young individuals can connect with law enforcement personnel and community members, fostering positive relationships and mentorship opportunities.as a vital resource in the community, the center offers enrichment programs designed to empower teens to reach their full potential, focusing on academics, leadership, mentorship, and community service. These programs equip youth with the skills and confidence to become future leaders, shaping their own paths and making a positive impact in their communities.
Community-oriented special events hosted by pal foster stronger connections between cops, kids, and the community. Events like trunk or treat bring together 30 local organizations and law enforcement agencies to distribute candy to local youth in a safe and enjoyable environment.during winter wonderland, pal spreads joy by providing over 150 gifts to underprivileged children in Santa Barbara. This heartwarming event also brings families together for a special dinner, creating lasting memories and a sense of togetherness.the bridge mentoring program partners with our Police advisory cadre, supported by the Police department, where officers serve as mentors and advocates for our youth. Through this program, officers actively engage with and mentor youth multiple times a month, providing guidance, support, and encouragement. Activities include fishing, snorkeling, and surfing, creating unique opportunities for the youth to bond with their mentors while developing confidence and life skills. This program fosters strong relationships between law enforcement and youth, helping them build trust and providing critical mentorship to guide them toward successful futures.
The campership alliance is an indispensable service dedicated to promoting equity and inclusion. Through a collaboration between pal and 15 other agencies, this initiative provides summer camp scholarships to deserving youth aged 3 to 18. Pal plays a central role, serving as the hub for qualifying, registering, and allocating over 500 summer camp scholarships. Additionally, pal offers transportation to and from camps as needed, ensuring that every eligible youth has the opportunity to participate in these enriching experiences.
