Sass Go eradicates assault, abuse, and trafficking against women and girls by providing prevention education, self-defense training, and crisis response consulting. Its team is dedicated to ensuring that all women receive the necessary skills to save themselves. Drawing on its own expertise and the expertise of industry professionals in campus safety, criminal justice, law enforcement, threat assessment, personal safety, and domestic violence, Sass Go works with institutions for crisis response consulting and survivor care.

Program areas at Sass Go

Educational programming and empowered self-defense training: through our age-specific, developmentally appropriate educational seminars and self- defense training, Sass Go is safeguarding lives and making communities safer. To date, Sass Go has educated and trained nearly 18,000 participants in 22 states and the district of columbia. Sass Go reaches participants in schools, universities, community centers, places of worship, law enforcement, and businesses. Nearly 50% of these participants have trained for free or at a reduced cost. Sass Go's landmark violence prevention and response education and training includes the harm reduction series, the recognize respond refer professional series, comprehensive self defense training, and i will survive women's retreats. Each training is handcrafted to meet the unique needs of the people gathered as they learn to detect threats to safety, respond to incidents of violence, support survivors, know available resources, and raise awareness for prevention.
Crisis response consulting and survivor care: drawing on its own expertise and the expertise of individuals in the field ofr campus safety, criminal justice, law enforcement, threat assessment, personal safety and domestic violence, Sass Go works with institutions, businesses, and departments to establish high functioning and efficient response systems in advance of and after a crisis. We also work with survivors and their families to help them efficiently and effectively navigate the legal, medical, advocacy, counseling, and law enforcement systems to ensure critical support and preservation of options. As part of crisis response consulting, Sass Go created the green screen testing kits. The green screen is a kit being used in columbia, south carolina to help identify, investigate, and end involuntary druggings. In addition, in 2022 Sass Go continued laying the foundation for the banks. The banks will be a state-of-the-art refuge for survivors, providing the support, assistance, and care they need, when they need it most. It will serve as a place to educate and train first responders, teachers, leaders and community members from across the country.
Instructor training, development and management: Sass Go instructors live in states across the country and share the power of Sass programming with women and girls in their communities. Each instructor is hand selected and extensively trained ensuring utmost standard of care for every participant entrusted to Sass Go. The Sass Go instructor training is three phases, and once completed, instructors are certified to teach Sass Go self-defense courses in their communities. In 2022, Sass Go certified and licensed additional instructors expanding our ability to reach even more communities. Sass Go offers instructors educational and engagement opportunities. Sass Go assists instructors in developing courses in their area and meeting all Sass Go instructor requirements.
Raising awareness of the epidemic of violence against women and girls: through social media, our website, educational materials and programs, and speaking engagements, Sass Go is raising awareness of the epidemic of violence against women and girls. Educating communities and individuals as to the scope of the problem and available resources is a critical step in preventing violence and supporting survivors.
